At 4700 University Blvd E, the Tuscaloosa Elks Lodge #393 has been doing the kind of work that doesn't make headlines but absolutely changes lives. Every year, Lodge members organize events like the beloved Christmas party for kids with disabilities, where children craft their own ornaments, share a hot meal, and walk away with presents and smiles. That's the Elks in action, not a slogan on a wall.

The Lodge is also one of the few fraternal clubs in the area that welcomes RV travelers on the property, offering overnight stays for fellow Elks members passing through Tuscaloosa. Members from across the country have pulled in, swapped stories at the lounge, and left with new friends and a recipe or two. Ask Malissa about her Key Lime Pie.

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by members and guests, Lodge #393 draws people who want more than a membership card. They want a place to show up, roll up their sleeves, and be part of something that outlasts any single event.

What We Offer

Lodge #393 offers a full slate of member benefits and community programs rooted in the BPOE mission of charity, justice, brotherly love, and fidelity. The lounge is a gathering spot where members unwind, catch up, and build the kind of friendships that form over years, not apps.

Beyond the social side, the Lodge hosts charitable fundraisers, youth-focused events, and community outreach programs throughout the year. The RV parking facility on site gives traveling Elks members a convenient and affordable place to stay right off University Boulevard, with easy access to everything Tuscaloosa has to offer.

Membership opens the door to a national network of over 800,000 Elks, local voting rights on Lodge decisions, access to events, and the satisfaction of contributing to causes that matter in West Alabama and beyond.

"Customer service is a 1. Called a week ahead for a rv spot. Gave us site 10. Arrived with someone else in it. Then wanted us to squeeze into a spot where we couldn't put slide-out. How about calling us like we were told to call if we weren't going to make it."

Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
